Question Too Hot to Drive

My 2000 323Ci is expirencing overtemp problems.
I was driving a short distance and noticed the temp gage in the red, the warning light luminated, and the dash indicating "Service engine soon". I pulled over Immedately & shutdown. I waited a little and eased the pressure in the system.
Nursed her home and began trouble/shooting.
Ran engine for 15 min no A/C, in driveway. No repeat. Attempted to drive in local area, she peaked overtemp warning, and service engine light. Shutdown.
Changed Thermostat & housing unit, fan temp switch, service antifreeze, bleed air from system. (Squeeling waterpump was changed 5months ago)
Restart, A/C on, idle for 15-20 min. noticed electric fan only activated for 30 seconds and weak rotations.
Take short drive, all warning lights and indication back on.
Now I am reaching out for some direction.
Appericate any replies.
Thanks
